The Incompletionist

Is it OCD? Maybe. But mostly harmless.  This compulsion to finish things. To leave nothing unturned, unread. Trying to bond with daughter 2.  Watched Gilmore Girls, 7 Seasons, 154 episodes, plus the four-part miniseries. 

Book before film or Tv series. Start a book, finish a book. Usually. Nine times out of ten. But there have been a few, rare instances where i just could not do it.  Book part of a series, read the entire series. Sequel? Read it.  Haruki Murakami.  Start with the Rat Trilogy: Hear the Wind Sing, Pinball 1973, Wild Sheep Chase, then the fourth part of trilogy, Dance, Dance, Dance .  Read all the novels, and the short story collections, and the non-ficiton, autobio ... what i talk about when i talk about running.  Read Norwegian Wood. Not yet watched the movie. Read the short story that Drive my Car is based on. Not yet watched the movie. It's three hours.  His latest non-fic, Novelist as Vocation. On my list along with the two movies above.
